Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms.

  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  6. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  7. Spread crushed tomatoes evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Arrange mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, and add fresh basil leaves.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like olives or arugula if desired.
