Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef chuck
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Season the beef with salt and pepper, then brown it on all sides in the pot.
  3. Add the onions, carrots, and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and add bay leaves and thyme.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  6. Let it simmer for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
  7. Remove the meat, shred it, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.
  8. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
