  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely.
  9. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally and layer with whipped cream and strawberries.
  11. Top with the other half of the cake and decorate with more whipped cream and strawberries.
